DASCO Australia‘s Co-Director, Mr Salim Nicolas OAM, delivered an address at The Australian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce‘s annual luncheon calling for an innovative approach to housing solutions.
“Mr Nicolas painted a stark picture of Australia‘s housing landscape, highlighting the critical issues of affordability, availability and accessibility. He noted that despite numerous proposed solutions the situation had only worsened due to conflicting interests and a lack of cohesive action.
Mr Nicolas urged a more proactive approach. He proposed the creation of an “Express Lane for Construction’, a streamlined process that would expedite development and certification.
Mr Nicolas argued that by implementing cash incentives for government officials and leveraging technology like Artificial Intelligence, the construction process could be significantly accelerated. He emphasised the importance of efficiency and simplicity in addressing the housing crisis.
“When a problem is too problematic, and when a crisis is too critical, the tide can only be turned with innovation.” – said Salim Nicolas OAM.
Mr Nicolas’ call for innovation, incentives and efficiency provided a practical roadmap for addressing the complex challenges facing Australia’s housing market.”
